All donations go towards rescuing, supporting, re-homing, and adopting rescue cats and kittens.
BMD services towns and villages within the Blue Mountains, Lithgow, Bathurst, and beyond.
Your generosity plays a vital role in BMD's independent, volunteer-fueled mission to:
* Deliver key services,
* Liberate cats and kittens in distress,
* Give a lifeline to cats otherwise facing euthanasia,
* Fund their medical needs,
* Maintain their health, safety and nurturing until they are adopted.
After nearly 30 years of dedicated service, BMD's CatMobile has reached the end of its journey. With registration expiring at month's end, we urgently need your help to continue our vital work across the Blue Mountains, Lithgow, and surrounding districts.
Our trusted vehicle is the backbone of BMD's rescue operations, covering more than 1,000 kilometers every week. From urgent rescue missions and veterinary visits to food deliveries and adoption meet-and-greets, the CatMobile has been essential in saving countless feline lives throughout our community.
The CatMobile has enabled countless success stories. Recently, it helped us rescue little Boo and Homer, supported Dom, Tom Tom, and Trooper's amazing journeys to their forever homes, and facilitated the rescue of over 30 cats and kittens in the Lower Mountains. Through dedicated transport, we've been able to trap, desex, rehabilitate and rehome these vulnerable animals, making a real difference in our community.
Our resources are already stretched to the limit with veterinary bills, medications, food, and essential equipment. Without additional funding, we cannot replace this crucial vehicle, which would bring our rescue operations to a standstill.
We need to raise $8,000 to replace the CatMobile. While we understand times are tough, every donation brings us closer to maintaining our vital rescue services.
Follow the Donate Funds instructions below and complete the Submission form.
All Donations over $2.00 are tax deductible.
Your generosity today will ensure we can continue our mission tomorrow, helping vulnerable cats and kittens across our community. Thank you for supporting BMD's work.
Account Details:
Late last week, ten abandoned kittens were rescued in the Lower Mountains: six are around three weeks old, and four are five to six weeks old, along with a young female cat.
This situation stems from years of abandoned, undesexed cats, leading to a stray population. These kittens urgently need veterinary care, and help is requested for medical attention, nourishment, and fostering.
More foster carers are needed - Contact Suzanne at 0414 953 992 if you are considering being a Foster Carer.
All donations go towards caring for the kittens and controlling the stray cat population through desexing.
Meet Otis, a loving ginger cat who has faced a series of health challenges with remarkable resilience. After undergoing surgery for an inner ear abscess, scans revealed a collapsed lung and a severe nasal infection. Despite these hurdles, Otis remains in good spirits, charming everyone at the Animal Referral Hospital in Homebush with his sweet nature.
Thanks to the swift actions of Dr. Monica and the expert care of Dr. Sarah, Dr. Emily, and their team, Otis is on a hopeful path to recovery. As we continue to provide him with the necessary medical care, your support is crucial. Our funds are limited, and your donations can make a meaningful difference in ensuring Otis and other cats receive the care they need. Thank you for your generosity in helping Otis on his journey to health.
