URGENT: Help BMD Replace the CatMobile

Urgent – BMD CatMobile needs replacing URGENT: Help BMD Replace the CatMobile

After nearly 30 years of dedicated service, BMD's CatMobile has reached the end of its journey. With registration expiring at month's end, we urgently need your help to continue our vital work across the Blue Mountains, Lithgow, and surrounding districts.

Why the CatMobile Matters: Our trusted vehicle is the backbone of BMD's rescue operations, covering more than 1,000 kilometers every week. From urgent rescue missions and veterinary visits to food deliveries and adoption meet-and-greets, the CatMobile has been essential in saving countless feline lives throughout our community.

Our Impact: The CatMobile has enabled countless success stories. Recently, it helped us rescue little Boo and Homer, supported Dom, Tom Tom, and Trooper's amazing journeys to their forever homes, and facilitated the rescue of over 30 cats and kittens in the Lower Mountains. Through dedicated transport, we've been able to trap, desex, rehabilitate and rehome these vulnerable animals, making a real difference in our community.

The Challenge: Our resources are already stretched to the limit with veterinary bills, medications, food, and essential equipment. Without additional funding, we cannot replace this crucial vehicle, which would bring our rescue operations to a standstill.

Our Goal: We need to raise $8,000 to replace the CatMobile. While we understand times are tough, every donation brings us closer to maintaining our vital rescue services.

How You Can Help: All donations over $2.00 are tax deductible.

To Donate, follow instructions - Here.

Your generosity today will ensure we can continue our mission tomorrow, helping vulnerable cats and kittens across our community. Thank you for supporting BMD's work.

BMD's Latest Kitten Rescue & APPEAL for FOSTER CARERS

BMD's Latest Rescue Kitten Boo BMD's Latest Rescue Kitten Homer

Boo (gorgeous blue eyes) and her brother Homer were rescued from Lithgow Cemetery last week. Thanks to a caring couple who were visiting the cemetery and saw the kittens, Boo and Homer are now safe. Sadly, their mother and sibling did not survive.

Boo and Homer are approximately 4.5 weeks old and very sweet and it appears from their nature that they have been around people before being abandoned.

Kitten season is one of the busiest times of the year for rescue groups.

Unfortunately, BMD does not have enough foster carers and we urgently need your help.

Call Suzanne on 0414 953 992 to discuss becoming a foster carer for BMD. We supply the food and litter and are always there to help and give advice.

Tom Tom Appeal Update

Rescue Cat Tom Tom

It's been quite the journey for Tom Tom since joining the BMD family in early August. We're thrilled to share that he's received a clean bill of health from the vets! The second lump on his neck only needed draining, so no further surgery is required.

The veterinary team was amazed at how well Tom Tom's leg healed and how smoothly he adapted to life on three legs. Tom Tom continues to impress us all with his resilience and zest for life, especially enjoying his cat scratchers and scratching posts! .

A huge thank you to Stewart Street Vets for their exceptional care and compassion throughout Tom Tom's recovery. And, of course, to all of you who supported Tom Tom along the way, we extend our deepest gratitude. This special cat has indeed won hearts; your generosity has made all the difference.

Dom’s Happy Ending - A Tale of Triumph

Funding Appeal for the Courageous Dom

January 2024 we reached out for help to save Dominic (Dom), a tiny kitten battling brutal injuries and looming blindness. BMD asked for assistance with funding to cover surgeries and his ongoing care.

After eight months of challenges and triumphs, our beloved rescue kitten Dom has found his forever home with the kind-hearted Laura. In a delightful turn of events, Dom's companion Puss Puss has also been adopted into the same loving family.

Dom's bravery continues to shine as he helps Puss Puss adjust to their new canine siblings. His adventurous spirit remains strong, conquering tall scratching posts and forming an unlikely friendship with a dog named Milo.

We're immensely grateful to all who supported Dom's journey. Your compassion has given these deserving cats a chance at a happy, love-filled life. Thank you for being part of this heartwarming story and for enabling us to create more happy endings for cats in need.

Update Trooper & BJ: A Tale of Two Rescues

Trooper & BJ Update

In the world of cat rescue, every story is unique. We're thrilled to share that Trooper (ginger boy), one of our rescues, has recovered and found his forever home. His resilience and spirit have led him to the happy ending we always hope for.

However, rescue work also brings heartbreak. Despite our best efforts, BJ's (black and white little girl) journey took a different path. Facing multiple health challenges, her little body couldn't overcome the obstacles. BJ has peacefully passed and now rests in our Lavender Garden.

While we celebrate Trooper's success, we also honor BJ's memory. Both cats remind us why we continue our mission, through joys and sorrows. Thank you for supporting us in giving every animal the best chance at life and comfort.
