BMD services towns and villages within the Blue Mountains, Lithgow, Bathurst, and beyond.

Motivating Factors Behind Establishing BMD Cat Welfare:

  •  Due to a scarcity of local services in cat welfare. We felt compelled to launch BMD as a Cat Welfare Group to service the Blue Mountains, Lithgow, Bathurst and beyond.
  • Few services provided the range of crucial aspects of rescue, rehab, and rehoming.
  • Alarmingly, unrestrained and un-desexed cats continued to wander outdoors, wreaking havoc on local fauna.
  • Rampant dumping and abuse of cats and kittens underscored the urgent need for action!

Five Ways to: Safeguard Your Cat and Conserve the Environment -

  • Desexing cats not only boosts their health but also curbs unwanted conduct. It's a crucial step to owning a cat responsibly, and it helps avoid overpopulation by preventing unexpected kittens. Desexed felines are way calmer and less likely to fight with other cats. They're less prone to marking their territory by spraying, making them great indoor companions.
  • Never abandon any unwanted cats or kittens. Doing so transforms them into strays that face multiple dangers and must rely on wildlife for sustenance.
  • Preventing your cat from roaming: Keep them out of harm's way and prevent them from harming native wildlife.
  • Keep you cat confined within your property, ideally indoors or in a special enclosure or cattery. Safeguarding against dangers such as road mishaps, brawls, serious diseases or human cruelty. Moreover, they may or may even be stolen. Avoid these hazards by ensuring your cat remains at home.

Happy Rescue Cat BMD Cat Welfare
  • Consider teaching your cat to adapt to a leash. This method is gaining popularity among owners, providing a secure mode for cats to experience outdoor life. It helps keep them active, reducing tendencies towards boredom.
